[A/S] Window Question

I'm new to the list and doing a partial restoration on a '66 Safari.

Are you sure that the frame around the glass is missing on your window?  By
"frame" do you mean the frame that is riveted into the rough opening in the
trailer body in which the window is installed?  Or, are you referring to a
metal frame the surrounds the glass and then fits into the body mounted
window frame?  The windows on my '66 don't have a metal frame surrounding
the glass but, of course, do have a frame that attaches to the rough opening
in the trailer body.  If you are also missing the frame that attaches into
the rough opening in the body I don't know a solution for that situation.
Maybe someone can suggest a source of a window frame from a wrecked and
junked vintage A/S.  Or you might have to install an entirely different
window with a new frame.

BKRV@aol.com, an RV service company near Longview, TX, advertised three
windows for '60s vintage A/Ss about a week or so ago.  He has the only
windows for sale that I have heard of.  They are not easy to find.  I don't
know whether he has the frames.

I couldn't find a source for actual A/S windows so I used a product called
Acrylite II which is manufactured by Cyro Industries, Inc.
http://www.Cyro.com.  Inland RV (on the list) sells windows made of this
product cut to fit.  It is a hard "plastic", scratch resistant.  It is a
satisfactory substitute but not as good as the original glass.
