With respect to 'Pergo' please keep in mind that there are other 
laminated flooring products on the market that are superior to real 
Pergo brand laminate flooring. If you are considering Pergo from Home 
Depot, the most common sales point, take the time to visit another 
flooring seller who carries other brands, and compare those to the 
Pergo. I recommend this because I am a catastrophe insurance
adjuster, and I have adjusted  water losses in homes with Pergo 
floors. When there is enough water to seep under or around Pergo or
to stand on it for a time, the seams permanently swell and replacement
of the entire floor is the only truly acceptable remedy. The sales 
material will tell you that it is waterproof, but I have bought to 
many of these floors not to be very skeptical about how the term 
'waterproof' is defined. Other laminates have a better record.
