[A/S] A year on the list

The list seems kind of slow and probably will be until the holidays
have passed. I have only been tuning in here for about the last year,
but thought I would share some of my thoughts.

What I like about the Airstream mail list:

Hunter Hampton. I don't know how she does it - keeps this and other
lists going while doing all of the other stuff she does and tells us
about so we can share her experience, but I am glad she does.

I like new guys on the list who sort of timidly or boldly make their
entrance and then find a place to contribute or pick up on this
Airstream stuff.

I like it when lurkers come out of the woodwork to speak up about
some issue in which they have expertise.

I enjoy Hensley/Pullrite vs. other or Dodge vs. Ford or vintage vs.
new debates every now and then. By this time they are predictable for
me, but the new blood gets the experience.

I like to hear from Tom P. and refer to his excellent trailer site
from time to time.

I like it when I hear off list from those I have corresponded with,
and we can exchange ideas and experiences and gossip a little about
some of the funny things or personalities.

I like to hear from the sages like Don Kribbs, who always seem to
have wisdom as well as advice about a particular problem. Hope the
recovery is going well, Don.

I like getting news about a new web site or an event that there would
be no way of me finding without someone on the list scouting it out.

I like being able to help a list member find the perfect Airstream. I
hope that the Limited is pleasing you Jerry.

I like the technical advice or comments that come from guys like
George T. or Boojum and others.

I even like to see the strong personalities and prolific participants
get involved and sometimes wane, and I wonder what happened because I
haven't seen anything from the Arizona Silver Streaker or Bob Kiger
(like tiger with a K) for a while.

I like not having to put up with a bunch of griping, and whining
personalities or flaming insult battles. Thanks again Hunter, for
creating this environment.

All together I have enjoyed the time I have spent reading you folks
this year. I hope I have not bored you all or made to many dumb
observations or comments while trying to sound like I know a little
about Airstreams. I'm really still just a beginner and know it.

Anyway, I hope that all of you have a very happy and healthy holiday
season, that Santa is good to each of you and that you can take a few
minutes to reflect on the traditions that make this time of year
special.
