Re: [A/S] Re: How cold is cold?

Hello All,
I agree to a point on the method used to winterize the coach......up to a
point. I follow the directions on lowering the front and then the back to
drain the lines, just like the Airstream owners manual said. Then the wife
and I go down to the local gas station and blow out the lines by opening one
line at a time, sinks, shower, stool, and water heater. The only place I put
antifreeze is in the traps, not in the lines. I have followed this procedure
for the past 4 winters on 2 different coaches and have not had a problem
except the gallon of antifreeze that sits in the garage all summer and takes
up space. I have worked on using the same gallon for the past 3 winters. The
only other place I will add antifreeze is to the water pump, I disconnect the
line and stick it into the jug and pump some through the pump to keep it from
freezing. For Wisconsin winters (its 4 below today) this has worked just fine
for me.

Hope this helps, it has save me money on the cost of filling the lines with
the stuff.
