John, You might want to check out the Ford web site: http://www.fordvehicles.com/suvs/expedition/specs/#group26 I read the tow cap at 5500 or 6000 depending on tire/wheels. Sounds to me like you will be less than ecstatic with the performance in hilly terrain. Matt
