What you are saying is that the coupler latch is all that is holding 
the trailer onto the ball. That is nonsense, just what is it that is 
lifting the trailer coupler off the ball, magic. If you have a way to 
measure the toungue pressure on the ball before and after the 
tensioners are lifted you would see a dramatic increase in pressure 
after the tensioners are set.
