[A/S] Pima County West Park

Anyone interested in a boondocking location?

Surprise, surprise - we've found another one. This county park is near Stanfield, Arizona. It's
located northeast of Exit 151 on SR84 off Interstate 8 (south of Phoenix).

Each campsite is large and semi-private. All are scattered around the desert among Prickly Pear,
Yucca and other desert cacti. Each site has a picnic table on a concrete pad with a large roof over
it. Beside each table is a standing charcoal grill and a trash can. There are several campsite
loops, although none were evident until we did a little exploring. This is strictly a primitive area
with no water, no electric, no dump station (that we could find), no phone, no nothing and there's
no fee either - yet. In the Casa Grande area (Pima County), this campground has the largest sites
we've seen, short of parking on raw desert land (BLM). And, oh yes, there are coyotes and they howl
occasionally.
