Mary,

My '65 Globetrotter has a small handle detent above the step.  The only way
I can get my step to come down, is to pull out on the "handle"  the detent,
then use my foot to lift the step up, or basically push it further up into
the retracted position.  This seems to release it and allow it to then fall
down into position.  If I don't use it for some time, sometimes it sticks a
little, so it requires more of a kick, than just a lift, with the foot.
