Mary, be sure to step back before trying to get the step down, it might hit
you in the shins! There should be a bend in the aluminum at the door stoop
which is visible with the door open. Give it a little tug. If the step does
not fall into place you may need to coax it a little. Be sure to oil the
mechanism if this is the case.
