 No one is suggesting that you test your rig to its limits.  The guy

heard discussing this at the International this year suggests that
you 
simply practice fast stops from several velocities to learn how your 
braking system responds, then to practice some quick lane changes at 
various velocities to learn how your rig responds to these maneuvers. 
I believe this is exactly what Jim suggested.  Common sense says to 
start slowly, and stop if you feel that the testing is getting out of 
hand.  It's all about understanding what to expect before an
emergency 
happens.
