Yes the beds are small. I understand this in the vintage trailers, but agree
with you on the new ones, perhaps their marketing research shows that people
consider the kitchen over the bed--oh well.

I also like originality, because of this my wife and I slept on the front
sofa in our Overlander (with the rear twin beds going unused) for years.
This spring I made a removeable platform to span the gap between the twins,
added some foam and walla! King-sized bed. It takes about 3 minutes to set
up or tear down. The only change to the appearance of the trailer is the
addition of a small wood rail mounted to the side of the beds. The only
downside is that if you have more than two people in the trailer, you have
just cut off access to the bathroom at night!
