[A/S] Generator power

I suggest you trailer a bit with your unit and stop at places that have
electricity although you probably have battery power to last couple of
days at a non-elect. sites if you are careful with lights, etc.. After
you have some experience you will have a better idea about where you
can/want to take a 31 ft rig. You will find a 31 ft unit is not a good
"off road" camping unit. I do not recommend a generator. I have had one
for ten years or more and have used it once (first and only time just
after I bought it). If you want to boon dock I suggest you plan on
spending $600 to 2000 for solar electric panels, more batteries to your
unit and an inverter (at high end). It is quiet and virtually trouble
free once installed. A generator is not very welcome to other campers as
you already surmise.
