 Both http://www.dieselpage.com and http://www.genosgarage.com  have tranny
temp guages. I've dealt with both and can recommend them. Both have the
AutoMeter 'A' pillar guage mounts available that place the guages on the
windshield pillar, in good view of the driver, and a smart-looking setup.

You need to drop your transmission drain pan and install a fitting in the
side of it. I bought a brass 3/4" -> 3/8" NPT reducer bushing, faced it off
in the lathe, then soldered it to the pan. When you do this, be careful to
locate it where the temperature probe won't hit any of the tranny's innards
and won't interfere with a pan bolt. You run a single wire from the sending
unit to the guage, provide power to the guage, and connect the light in the
guage to your dash lighting circuit.

Easy job that you can do while you're changing the tranny oil and filter.
While you're at it, install another fitting on the bottom of the pan to make
future oil changes less messy.
