Dick,
 If you do a good job of blowing down the system, you shouldn't have to
worry about anything breaking from freezeups. Leaving the faucets and drains
open will allow some of the residual water to evaporate (although bugs could
possibly enter), but slight amounts of residual water shouldn't cause the
lines to burst.

Of course, my definition of "slight" might be different from yours. And, I
don't know what you're using for an air supply; I use 100+ PSI through a
3/8" hose with a tire chuck, fed from a 5HP compressor. I can put quite a
lot of air volume into the system, assuring that it's blown clear. One of
those little portable tire inflators is NOT going to do the job because you
need to get enough volume flowing in the lines to carry most of the water
out of the open faucets and valves. You don't need a big outfit like mine, a
1HP compressor with a storage tank (to provide the large-volume bursts of
air) will do the job nicely.
