Re: [A/S] Re: International Sovereign water valves, 5 of them

Hunter,
Sanitizing your fresh water tank isn't THAT complicated. You put in
some water, maybe 1/2 full, add a bit of Clorox, about 1 cup, more or
less. Run water at every faucet until you can smell the Clorox. Let it
sit for a couple or 3 hours, then drain the tank. Fill it 1/2 full
again, and add some baking soda to "sweeten" things. It might help to
drive it around a bit to slosh the water around the tank, then run water
at all faucets to flush out the clorine smell. Drain it again, then use
normally. I might be off a bit on the proportions of Clorox and baking
soda, but Bob Livingstion's book and Phred's Poop Sheets have the
details. It isn't real critical in any event.

By not using the onboard tank, you cut yourself off from many camping
sites that can be lots of fun, but have no hookups. If your batteries
are in good shape, you can easily go a couple or 3 days w/o charging
(given somewhat careful use, of course) so you don't need to have solar
panels, etc.

FWIW: I've never sanitized my tanks in either trailer, just use bottled
water for drinking, coffee, etc. I've never hooked up the city water
connection on the Avion except to test it before purchase.
