Re: [A/S] Where To find Model listing.
John, your 22 footer that may be a 1960 or a 1961 was built at a time
when the Airstream factory used the 22 foot platform for several
different models, and here they are. Safari, Flying Cloud , Panorama,
Caravanner. In some of those years a specific nemeplate was used to set
them apart. I think we can rule out the Panorama because so few were
made. If it has a long row of windows on the street side, it is
possibly a Caravanner. I asked Karnack for some help on this one, but
he was out at a Cowboy bar last nite, and this morning , he is
worthless. The serial number will tell us more. 22TDS is only part of
it. There is a big difference between a 1960 and a 61. Take a look
underneath. If it has a straight axle with leaf springs, it is a 1960,
if it has a square torque tube axle and no springs then (Henschen Dura
Torque) it is a 1961.
When Karnack sobers up, I'll ask him again, but don't count on him,
he's been out reading women's minds lately, and he is very confused.
