I hope you don't try to move the 31' very far - at most, maybe around the parking lot. IMHO, the Explorer is way too small for taking a behemoth on to the highway (underpowered, underbraked, undersuspended). As regards the hitch ball, my 31' has a 2-5/16" coupler. I would guess that yours does also.
