Re: [A/S] Re: International Sovereign water valves, 5 of them
Roy,
The RV anti-freeze won't "eat up" the tanks
I'm sure that I read someplace that putting it directly into a plastic
tank can cause a taste in the water next Spring. My cousin did that to
his MH one Fall, and he says that his water tasted so bad the next year
that he'd almost rather have had some plumbing freeze than put up with
the taste.
The other thing is that it can require quite a bit of anti-freeze in the
tank to get the pump primed. Plus, if the tank isn't completely dry (how
do you know?), the anti-freeze will be diluted and not give you the
protection you need. Of course, you can alleviate this possibility by
simply dumping MORE anti-freeze in the tank. Even if you were to pay
$4.00/gallon, an extra 5 gallons might be worth it, just to eliminate
the bother of disconnecting the pump, rigging up a new suction line,
etc. Not having to fix that annoying leak caused by disturbing the
plumbing would probably be worth a 20-dollar bill. :-)
