RE: [A/S] inverters

Jim, et al. -

I use my laptop and printer a lot, even when I'm boondocking. I have a 12V
adapter for the laptop. That plugs into a battery pack (or directly into the
cigarette lighter adapter in the trailer), which in turn is kept charged by
a small solar panel. I have not had good luck running my laptop directly off
the solar panel even though some panels are advertised as being made for
running laptops. I just haven't found the power consistent enough. I use a
Canon portable printer, with battery pack. It has a scanner cartridge which
fits into the ink supply slot. My digital camera uses NiMH batteries, which
I also charge with a solar charger. This setup has worked very well for me
for several years. I use it for data input in the field.

Happy Trails -
