Has the "give" of modern plumbing materials (the plastic stuff) had any
effect on the likelihood of freeze damage in modern trailers? The old
copper tubing could not retract when the ice thawed and thus the copper
would bulge more and more with each successive freeze and eventually split
on about the third freeze. 

Since more modern plastic tubing can yield upon freezing and then return to
their previous size when the ice thaws I would think this tubing would be
less susceptible to freeze damage. 

Anybody know for sure?

David, what type tubing did your Sovereign use?
