[A/S] Vista View windows - continued

Thanks to the post by Roy Lashway with the info on types of windows, I
took a closer look at mine.  It's apparently an early 1975 build,
because I got lucky here.

I have the snap-ring type.  Using a thin bladed screwdriver, the snap
ring can be pried out fron the inside, and then the plastic pane can be
removed.  From there, it's a simple thing to scrape the sealer (Vulkem?)
and push the outer pan to the inside.

I've posted some photos to the Files section at e-groups.  Sorry about
the size...I have a new digital camera and keep forgetting to reset it
from HQ mode.

vview1.jpg is the window as it looks from the outside, with the peeling
coating between the panes.

vview2.jpg is the snap ring detail...sort of.  What you want to look for
is the joint, because that's where you start to pry to get it out.  It
should be at the top of the window. Pry in a downward motion until you
can lift the end toward you, then carefully work it out.  I was looking
for a wire-type snap ring at first, and couldn't find it.  So.....

vview3.jpg is what it looks like out of the window frame.  Flat
aluminum, about 1/2" wide by 3/16" thick.

If it's of any help, I'll upload more photos as I go along.  I have five
of these things to do.  Once I get the outer glass cleaned off, I may
apply a smoke tint before I reinstall them.
