I think it is bigtime ugly to see flat panels on top of a vintage rig.  I 
am planning on installing four of the Uni-solar flexible mats.

I will fasten them to the hull with rivets.  They should hardly be 
noticeable.  I expect to give up some efficiency, ergo 4 - 32 watt 
panels.  In my case the batts will go under the streetside couch.  That's 
the shortest distance from the panels and also has ample room for three or 
four batts.

I plan to keep my existing Univolt charger and battery separate.

I'm sure you will hear from others on their areas of specialty.
I also recommend that you parse out your issues into bite size pieces or 
otherwise people sometimes get overwhelmed and just don't respond :)

I'm sure you will have a great vintage rig.
