[A/S] New A/S newbie questions
Hello!
I am another newbie, too. I joined this list a few days ago and sent
in some wuestions, but didn't get any replies. Perhaps my computer is
messing up, and I didn't get the messages.....anyway...... it's okay. I
have gained a lot of information form all of you from just lurking. I am
trying this again....
I just bought a 1969 Globetrotter. I have a 1984 Ford cargo van (E150)
1/2 ton. Am I going to have to get another vehicle to tow the A/S? I read
with interest your postings about tow vehicles, but I still wasn't sure if
my question was answered there. I am writing from New Mexico and we have
the mountains here, you know. We have STEEP mountains here!
The van has a new engine in it and it seems to have good power going up
the mountains all by itself and I have loaded it from top to bottom, end to
end, front to back, going to trade shows and it seems to ride fine with its
own load. I just don't know how it will do with the Globetrotter in tow.
I also don't know if it has "trailer brakes". How do I know? Do I
have to have something done to the Van in order to use the "trailer brakes"?
When I bought the van (in 1984 new), I ordered the "tow package", but I
still don't know if I got it since I don't really know what a "tow package"
is!!! Duh! I have never towed anything with it, just filled it to the
brim occassionally.
John Sargeant mentioned something about hitch equalizers and the tow bar
being set right. Once again, I am baffled. Don't you just hook 'er up??
.... !!!! (Excuse me -- I am more familiar with horse trailers!!!)
I am sorry this is so long. You know how ignorant us newbies can be!!
((((hugs))))
