Phil,

I concur with your statement that it's probably the rule - not the
exception.  I did the hands and knees inspection of our '63 Overlander
several times - and I'm not done finding leaks yet!  Problem is, any leak
runs down the inside of the inner skin and soaks through  to be seen on the
wood - if it's exposed - or hides under the tile or vinyl , often  not to be
discovered until too late.

I repaired three sizable sections by riviting aluminum angle material to the
bottom of the walls and tapping stainless bolts through the new plywood that
nests in the angle aluminum..  Now - for better or for worse - any leaks
will go straight through to the underpan and won't touch the wood.  But they
won't be detected either, unless you check for water coming through the
underpan.
