Ed, the only way to know for sure if it is even safe to tow the Airstream
with either vehicle is to get the weight of the tailer. Perhaps the GVWR is
imprinted somewhere on the Airstream. If not, get it weighed at the local
public scale (should cost about $5 at a gravel or cement place - or look in
the yellow pages). The trailer should be loaded as it would be used as it is
easy to add 1000 to 1500 pounds to an empty trailer in stuff. Step two,
contact Nissan and Honda to see what the tow rating for those vehicles are
(contact the local dealers, they will have a phone number to call, give the
person on the other end the VIN # and they can give you an exact weight. If
the towing limits are above the GVWR or loaded weight, you are in business.
If not, you need to decide if you are going to overload the tow vehicle
(potentially dangerous and you will wear it out quickly) or find a tow
vehicle that will do the job, and do it well.
