If it is just the Continental (Navistar) engine failing we have
identified the problem.  But, I had heavy duty exhaust springs
installed when the brake was installed at BD.  They know how to do it.

I monitor the TSTPRODUCTS turbo diesel list on the 'net and have heard
no mention of this kind of problem.  So I don't think it affects
Dodge/Cummins.  As Cummins offers the Jacobs exhaust brake and installs
it they have taken this into account in the design.  That Navistar has
not is surprising.  Most diesels use eb's unless the owners like
freewheeling down mountainsides.  Usually not a problem, this
freewheeling, but with a load like a trailer behind Galileo's cannon
balls in Pisa's tower take on a whole new meaning, at a rate of up to
32 feet per second per second.   :o)

I do not know of any problem with the GMC diesel and wonder about the
new Isuzu GM will be offering.  How much have you heard from Ford on
this?  They seem to be weasely.  Ask a Pinto owner, or an SUV of the
type that is blowing tires rather than rolling over.  Choose one: death
by flipping or death by flipping.  Great.  Those guys at Ford are some
real fun.
