Bix heavy duty works but you gotta use it right.  You can't let it dry but 
you don't want to remove it too soon.  Best way I've discovered is to do 
small areas (2 square meters) early or late in the day.  No direct sun.

After 5 minutes use a plastic sponge to scrub the drying Bix around the 
surface and immdiately hose off.  Get a couple of spray bottles from old 
window cleaner etc. because Bix eventually wrecks the mechanism.

Your really wasting your time to polish over old clear coat.  Getting rid 
of clear coat is job one for restoration.
