RE: [A/S] Towing Vehicle?

John, up until a few years ago my '60 Overlander was always towed by a full
sized Chrysler car. But alas they no longer make such a thing. If you want a
not too used car as a tow vehicle you can consider a full sized GM or Ford
car with a frame. Caprice, Custom Cruiser, Crown Victoria, etc., but be sure
that they have the factory tow option. This usually gave you up to 5000
pounds of towing ability. This would be adaquate if 1) you stay away from
the mountains. 2) your Overlander is an early 60's model, as they put on
weight in the mid and late 60's. I would just love to find a 60 to 65
Chrysler in very good shape to fix up and tow my trailer with! Over the
years though, I have learned that the Suburban, or a full sized pickup makes
a most satisfactory and safe tow vehicle. Look for a factory tow option
along with a LARGE V-8 and 4:10 rear end. You will be able to go up any
mountain road with confidence and speed.

Scott.
