Here in Calif. we have AAA auto ins and it has a
similar clause regarding vehicles you have just
purchased.  We had a friend who worked for AAA a few
years ago.  At that time, the ins. would pay on the
claim if the vehicle was not recovered in 30 days. 
Again, that's in Calif.
