I ran into the same situation with my Suburban. I picked up a window mount
antenna from Camping World and installed it on the upper front corner of the
rear most side window on the driver's side. Inside cable into the molding and
down to the floor and under the carpeting exiting under the drivers seat. It
works "ok", but not as good as one of the huge ugly power sticks the truckers
use.
