Re: [a/s] Solar Suggestions
Hmm, when running on propane an older (non electronic) fridge uses no
electricity at all.
In 1975 I bought a German built SOB trailer in Austria and towed it from there
to Saudi Arabia by a roundabout route. It had an Electrolux fridge that worked
on propane, on 220 volt AC (the standard in Europe) and on 12 volt DC when
towing. When I sold the trailer a year or so later, in Saudi Arabia, I removed
the fridge, which worked wonderfully well, and installed it in my boat, where it
remains to this day (the boat was a casualty of the Gulf War, or near enough)
... but that fridge was a half-height unit (under the counter top) which I think
would be too small for fulltiming in the U.S. where you can't necessarily buy
fresh groceries on every street corner.

If you have a stove there are toaster gizmos that fit on top of a burner?

I seem to remember there was a list member named Joe Colao who had a lot of
ideas and experience with solar, has he weighed in on this one yet?
