Re: [a/s] Solar Suggestions
Wind is certainly powerFULL but I am concerned about the reliability of
windmills for long term usage. They are, after all, mechanical with
a good number of moving parts.
As to all the devices needing electrical, I could not agree more. With the
heat we've had this summer I can see how A/C is a necessity for many
people. Thankfully those (like myself) who live along the seashore can do
without A/C.
The next big power drain seems to be refrigeration. When I go solar I will
have to replace my old Dometic (with the Electrolux name plate) for a newer
more efficient model.
I will also be looking for a small toaster oven appliance that works off
gas. I do have a tiny old microwave that draws only 600 watts so it's a
keeper.
My TV VCR combo is small and well within the power limits of my 600 watt
inverter. When I install solar I am looking at a 1600 - 2000 watt inverter.
Am very interested in suggestions for these appliances and have been
enlightened by all the material on solar that the list has provided.
Thanks,
Bob
