We have five dogs and none has shown any sign of discomfort from the
whistlers.  My experience tells me that the devices do not seem to
have the desired effect on deer if your vehicle is traveling less than
40 mph.  At low speeds, I still have deer run across the road in my
path.  At highway speed they move in the opposite direction, as Roy
points out.
