Re: [a/s] fresh water tank woes
I spent a week in Jackson Center waiting for my '99 to be repaired and heard
a lot of horror stories from other owners. I had work done that shouldn't
have needed to be done! Skylight screws were tightened so much they cracked
the plastic and caused a leak. Water pressure in the kitchen and shower is
lousy, and still is because they used too small pipe! Front window leak (and
still does). Can't use AC and electric water heater without tripping a
breaker.
So far I paid for: all new mirror clips on the back of the doors were
tightened too much causing them to crack and break (I replaced them with
5/16" fender washers) 2 batteries that according to the warrantee started
when the were purchased by Thor (6 months before I bought the unit, $180+)
1 - 20 amp breaker that won't reset.
1 rear window that just exploded into a million pieces for no reason. ($250)
I won' t buy another new unit, no less an Airstream!!! I haven't lost my
fresh water tank...yet! But, I never run with it full either...Bill
