Re: [a/s] Maintenance questions-Univolt Convertor

Don:
Before this is over you will probably know more about batteries and meters
than you wanted to know....Start by measuring the current in the various
circuits... Your Multimeter should have a current function... pull a fuse
and substitute the meter set for current... ( high as the meter goes..) you
should have a setting that will not hurt the meter...(since you are not
blowing fuses, the current is less than the fuse) work your way through
the circuits until you find the one that is drawing current... Since it
takes over night to kill the battery, you are probably drawing 5-10 amps or
so somewhere....you will have to disconnect the charger and measure the
current (and direction) ... what current scales did you wind up with on your
meter ???

If you had a real dead short, you would know where by the smoke and the
smell...A shorted individual circuit would blow the fuse and the battery
would be fine...Do you have a "stuck" fan anywhere??? like in back of the
fridge??? Any vents have a fan that goes on when you open the vent???
