Sorry it's pre coffee this AM... ( water delivery).... Has to
be negative ground to match the vehicles.... and I would think the negative side
should not appear "hot" to the the test light....unless the ground has been
removed somehow... then you don't know where the output terminals might float
off to...(assuming the output terminals are floating in the
converter...)
