No - same type tire, same highway tread type, same size, same load rating,
same radial 2 steel + 2 polyester type. Different brand, though - the OEMs
were Goodrich, as I recall, and the new ones are Goodyear. 

I have not checked the air pressure in them yet - this is almost certainly
the problem. I guess I could have checked that before I posted the earlier
note. 

But the point I meant to make, and will repeat here - there are a lot of
things that affect towing stability. If your rig doesn't feel right on the
road, look first into the simple things.
