Re: [a/s] looking for a tow vehicle....
Peg,
Ours is an F-350 Ford pickup. Since we travel with a 6'4" son, our only option
was the four door crew cab. The bed is the 6-1/2' box just to keep the whole
thing in one county at a time ;^). Would have liked the extra cargo space, but
at least now we don't need a tail gunner. The F-250 with diesel has the same tow
rating, but since the price differential is less than $200, we went for the whole
enchilada. Also, the 4x4 gives us a "creeper" gear when close in maneuvering.
Just leave the hubs dis-engaged, drop it into 4wd/low and don't have much
difficulty lining up all the pieces when connecting. If the suburban
configuration is more to your liking, there's always the Excursion available with
either a gas V-10, or PSD. I understand that Chev/GMC is coming out with a 'Burb
powered by their new diesel, but I haven't seen it yet.
Good luck with your search, see ya on the road,
Pam, Matt and Darrell Worner
