The truck is one of the variables, for sure. I would agree that a 3/4 ton diesel is a good choice. One reason is that we use one and it works just great. But, back to the hitch question. There was a noticeable improvement in towing the same trailer with the same truck when I installed the Hensley. It is just one test, and it definitely is not a double blind test, but the only instance of all things being the same except the hitch on this list. On that basis I will stand on my experience that the Hensley is a superior hitch in this instance. YMMV
