What a day!!!

It started out...well, I stepped out of the trailer to load stuff into the 
truck for take off from Teton NP campground.... I shut the door and put the 
stuff in the truck and went to open the trailer door and it was locked!!! 
GAACK!  All sets of keys were in the trailer.  It just diabolically locked 
itself )c:  Don went to the ranger station to get a locksmith and I decided 
to continue with my routine.  I dumped my grey tank and decided to hook up.  
I backed into the hitch, stepped out of the truck and twisted my ankle so 
hard I went down. Jeez. The ankle started to swell immediately.  Don came 
back and got me some ice (from his trailer) and the locksmith came.  She 
couldn't jimmy the lock so they went on the roof and took off the 
skylight...Don dropped in and opened the door. I was sitting on the ground 
with ice on my now huge ankle.  Paid the lady $40.00...Foremost will cover 
it. 

She told me the skylight was only being held on by the putty stuff, the 
caulking.  The plastic around the screws had all broken off... I'll have to 
get a new one. Grrr...

Okay, the moral of that is always keep a spare set of trailer keys in the 
truck....and check your skylight if you have one.

I decided my ankle was, at most, sprained so...... 

Off we went.... today was a great day for seeing critters.  First a moose 
(not the elusive bullmoose though), then a mama bear with two frolicking 
cubs... they were way too cute. Then tons of buffalo.  Herds of them.  Then 
deer, mule deer and "whistle pigs". Two coyotes were right near the 
road...actually I rode over a bridge with one trotting along side.

I missed the turn to Cody.  What should have been a short drive through 
Yellowstone turned into the long way... up into Montana and out the Northeast 
entrance.  It was awesome as far as scenery.  Surely the best Yellowstone has 
to offer.  Lamar Valley was inspiring.  The road however up and over Mount 
Washburn sucked.  Potholes, construction.... the roughest ride I've ever had 
with the trailer.  

What should have been a 2 hour ride turned into almost a 6 hour ride.  We 
actually went into Montana for a while... a wonderful little town.  Cooke 
City, Montana. 

We went up and down around 3-4,000 feet over mountains finally winding up in 
Cody.

Cody looks great, lots of stuff to do and we are staying 3 nights.  Lots of 
Airstream here in te Ponderosa campground... all heading for Bismarck.

So, that's my day........
