Is the cord a 30 amp or an orange one... 30 amps are the big fat black ones 
with the same plug the trailer cord has. IOW are you using an adapter to plug 
the extension cord to the trailer's cord?

If so, go to Walmart and get a 30 amp extension.

Of course, if the extension cord is a 30 am and is real long that could be it.
