Re: [a/s] Stuck wheel lug nuts on Aluminum wheels!
Jerry,
I was in a similar predicament a few weeks ago when I tried to remove a
wheel from the '93 with a 6 sided hex wrench socket on a big truck-type
cross bar. I couldn't move it for nothing. I took a 3' piece of pipe on a
breaker bar with a 6 sided socket and it broke free. There was no damage on
the rim because there seems to be a brass or bronze area to the lug nut area
that touches the rim.
When I replaced the lug nuts I put wheel bearing grease along the threads
prior to screwing them back on.
Well on I went right around the trailer, breaking each and every one with
the pipe and breaker bar. Then I tightened them with the cross bar. I
don't have a torque wrench.
You know, its funny, I remember my '73 having bolts for lugs and not nuts.
