EXCELLENT! I hope I never have to take a trip anywhere without mine! I
presume you got the "kit", with the Street Atlas software. You need more
than just the GPS.

They easy way: laptop with CD drive, DeLorme's power supply cord thingie,
the DeLorme Earthmate "kit". If your laptop doesn't have a CD built-in, it
will be a little harder, but can be done nonetheless.

BUT - it comes prepared to just use batteries. A set of batteries will
probably last around 8-12 hours, so you can use it quite a bit for ten
bucks worth of batteries from Sam's.

He is probably "down" on himself right now, and just _thinks_ he is a dog.
Anyway, My laptop is kept inside a softside case atop the "console" at the
driver's elbow. I have a Dodge 2500, and it has a fold-down "office"
thingie. I attached a mount atop this thingie to secure the case on it, and
keep the computer inside the case. When it folds up (like when a passenger
needs the seat back) the (closed) computer+case completely disappear from
view. When the console is folded down and the computer is in use
navigating, the screen is folded out and almost touches the dash.

You would have to buy a power supply for 110 also, I think. Try the
batteries first.

After you have gotten used to using it and are ready to try another neat
addition, get the "Phone Search" phone book CDs that DeLorme sells. The
data from PS can be used directly by the Street Atlas program.
