[a/s] Lette From a Newbie....Now Subscribed

First...an introduction...had to come to school to have one of my students tell me
how to do this e-mail system...think I have it now!
   I'm a past owner of a 22 foot '72 Land Yacht and current owner of a 30 foot '86
Sovereign/International which is currently under treatment for a myriad of moderate
to severe ailments. I know little about fixing things, but have learned so much
from the VAC Q and A, the tours at the Airstream factory and kind fellow owners...thanks
in advance...I am so happy to be able to talk to you all! I have all the tools and
materials, if only I can learn how to do it all!
I am a 48-year old high school English teacher in Ann Arbor, Michigan as well
as the mother of 4-year old son, Jean-Luc, Renata the exchange student from Brazil,
Sadie the black Lab, and Gaia the Siamese. I teach mostly American lit. and some
world lit and love doing it. I have no time for hobbies but fixing Airstreams...although
I love reading, playing the bagpipes, garage sale-ing gardening and cooking.
This AS will be going to Pelee Island, Ontario to live out its forseeable future
as our summer residence. If you would like to get away somewhere incredibly peaceful
and lovely, Pelee is the place to go. Warm clear waters, perch, walleye and bass
a few shops and the kindest people you'd ever want to meet. The English-built car
ferry the Jiiman (canoe in a Canadian native tongue) can take 40 cars, so your AS
will definitely fit!
I need some advice or need to be steered toward a video that will help me with
my saggy bottomed bathroom. As is typical with an old girl this age...her bottom
has slipped south of the frame. I intend to repair the floor/frame from the inside
(if the frame repair is possible from the inside) as all the bathroom liner and stuff
must be removed from about halfway back anyhow.
Here's what I'd like to know...(of course there may be stuff I don't evern KNOW
I need to know...so feel free!)

1.Any advice on drilling out the rivets that hold the liner? Also, any advice about
fragility/handling of liner?

2. A big one...is there a KIT for resuspension of floor to frame...I hear that there
is...if so, where do I get it and how do I use it? If no kit, then what to do?

3. Any advice about replacing liner/rivets/fixtures?

There is SIGNIFICANT wood damage/loss...you can see daylight when you open the
back storage door....not sure I can even make a meaningful template for the new wood
from the wood that remains...I'm sure I can make one out of some cardboard or something.
I do know I have to balance my cuts up on the middle of the metal frame pieces and
use self-tapping screws...other than this, I am without a clue; thus, I come to you!

Thanks,....hope to be chatting with you all now that I am e-mail ensconced!

                                        Annie
