Re: [a/s] Univolt replacement & Locks
Hi Jerry, I am not sure. We go away for 6-8 weeks at a time. We have never
run out of power, however, we did replace the incandescent light fixtures
with fluorescent fixtures. We refrain use of an inverter when possible.
Efficiency is very important. It is not like a generator - if you buy an
undersized generator you are screwed. If you under size your solar system -
you just add another panel, no big deal. After you install your solar panels
you will become more cognizant of your power uses. We purchased a small
digital multimeter for about $15. I mounted it on Velcro. We spliced in a
cigarette lighter adapter into the probes. We now plug the adapter into a12
V outlet in the trailer, Velcro it onto the wall and we monitor our voltage
at all times. It is interesting, actually fun to see how the various loads
effect the voltage. After awhile because of the volt meter you get to know
your system real well. Get into it as fast as you can! Joe from Long Island.
