My Ford E-350 diesel van (new) is getting its hitch installed. The dealer
asked me if I wanted to put in a computer chip ($495) that would
significantly increase my horsepower and marginally improve my mpg. I
remember reading somewhere that this is a reasonable idea.

I would be interested in hearing opinions, experiences etc on changing the
factory firmware on these diesels. Thanks in advance.
