The reason I inquired about the carpet in the first place is that when I
thought about replacing carpet with carpet or vinyl or a wood product of
some sort, I wondered what to do with the gap (with carpet strands
sticking out) between the cabinets and the new flooring material. The
quarter round molding idea seems like it would work for most of the
applications I can think of except maybe in the bath. Has anyone ever
replaced the carpet on the shower base wall or toilet base?

P.S. Even though we shouldn't talk about it anymore, it seems as though
A/S has been doing the carpet under everything at least back to the
early seventies as reported to the list from various now clandestine
sources. I looked at a 1964 Overlander last week and it did not 'appear'
to be like that, although I would not swear to it. In any event it looks
like this carpeting method may have started in the late sixties, maybe
even 1969 when the 'new' body was introduced.
