Re: [a/s] Suburban furnace blower
Hi there,
I had (optimal word being HAD) a 71 5 years ago, and the book said the
same thing.
You will need to remove the entire furnace, and open it up. It is fairly
straight forward of a process, but you need to get to the inside.
There you will find the "squirrel cage" fan. If you have the same
problem I had, just pust the fan back on the shaft. It is held on with a
"rubber grommet" thing that vibrates off. You will not need to replace
the motor if it is still turning and the bearings are not shot. Should
take under 3 hours, for someone that does not do this everyday. When
re-installing, make sure you get the gas line secure. Check with SOAPY
WATER, not a match like my sister did to check for leaks on a gas hot
plate while camping :-)
