John, we replace the carpet with sheet vinyl last summer and you are exactly
right. They put the carpet down then assemble the trailer interior over it.
TO remove it, you will have to rake out a bunch of rivets and screws, but
results are worth it. We used vinyl because we have to yellow labs and it is
much easier to clean vinyl than carpet.

Installation is tough, we had several professional installers take one look
and walk off the job. It was made worse by the fact that we had selected
commercial vinyl which is very hard to work with in confined spaces because
it is so thick and tough.
