I too put my TV on the floor when traveling. As Martin says it is safer but
it has one additional feature.  I have a very large pullout storage draw
under the sofa in the front of the trailer.  It is a real pain to lock when
traveling.  So I put the TV tight up against the draw while on the floor and
the draw stays closed.
